vivo recently launched their new V21 series which they call “selfie phones”. But the V21 series packs a better punch than its V20 predecessor. It’s definitely meant a lot more than just for selfie portraits.
The specifications of vivo’s V21 phones are a step-up from last year’s V20 series, which critics say lacked versatility in the gaming or higher-processing applications. This upgrade in specs is vivo’s effort in producing a new breed of mid-ranged smart phones in their roster, namely the V21 5G and V21e.
vivo V21 Series default specs
Both the V21 5G and V21e comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. They were also meant to be fashionable so colors may also vary. Available color variants are in Dusk Blue and Sunset Dazzle for the V21 5G, and Roman Black and Diamond Flare for the V21e.
The vivo V21 has anti-glare matte glass that is both scratch resistant and fingerprint-free. Although both phones are thin, with the V21 5G at 7.29mm and the V21e at 7.38mm, they’re also ergonomically-designed to give users a smooth and firm grip.

Basically, vivo’s V21e is cheaper than the more premium V21 5G. The latter is just better for gaming and other high-performing apps. Both phones however comes with only 4000mAh battery, which might not be that enduring for such energy hungry apps.
For photography, both phones are excellent at taking selfie portraits, night images, and stabilized video recordings. But V21 5G has a sharper image output than V21e.
Vivo’s V21 Series phones comes with a triple lens rear camera with a 64MP main camera, 8MP wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera. Both phones can be good choices for basic vlogging.
You can also see a few noticeable differences from the designs of the V21 5G and V21e, especially at the rear cameras.
A difference is that the vivo V21e has two LED lights, one cool and the other warm. But the V21 5G only has one LED light source.
