When it’s hot, which always is the case here in the Philippines, my skin tend to get a bit too oily. Partly also because of my poor choice of diet during stressful days. This causes my skin to break and have pimples.
No body wants pimples of course. This things can cause scars that can last for weeks and you’ll need make up to hide them away. Which can also be bad for your skin. So I decided to try some products for my facial skin care. I wanted something that can provide fast results so I went with Garnier due to its branded name and reputation.
Garnier ‘Pure Active’ Anti Acne and Oil Clearing Facial Scrub
Honestly, I’ve been using this product for a month now and I can’t say that I’m highly satisfied. I’ve got no problems with it, but I’m also not convinced that this is the best one for me. Nevertheless, I’d like to share to you my experience and observation using this facial scrub.
I wash my face twice a day with this. First in the morning and then at night before I go to sleep. I do get that “fresh” feeling after I use it but it doesn’t last for too long. After 2 hours, my face starts to oil up again but I did notice that it has helped reduce the amount of oil my face produce within half of my day. As for my pimples, it’s not a fast hitter. Most of my pimples would still last for 2-3 days, which is just average for me even without using a facial scrub. But I’m also positive that it did prevented my skin from breaking further.
- safe for sensitive skin
- has neutral odor when applied and none after rinsing
- fresh feeling on skin after wash
- no minty sensation after use
- texture is thick and creamy
- has tiny beads that act as gentle exfoliators
- it doesn’t dry-out your skin
- leaves and ample amount of moisture
For my final verdict, it isn’t a product that I’m going to keep on buying. I might try some other facial scrubs that might have a more lasting effect all through out a day. But it is a good facial cleanser and I recommend it to those who are just beginning to take care of their skin.
I purchased this at Watsons for Php159 per 100ml. A smaller 50ml is also available for Php89. I feel like it is a reasonable price but I think cheaper brands would have done the same results.
