A few months ago, I went to Watsons Pharmacy to figure out how to lessen my pores. I’ve been really insecure about how they have become more noticeable as I age. So I started looking for facial creams that can help me out on that.
I initially though that I should buy anti-aging creams, but those kinds can be quite expensive. What I like about Watsons Pharmacy is that they have sales ladies that are knowledgeable about the products that they are selling. So I was approached by one of them since it was obvious that I was having difficulties choosing a product for my facial skin care. She patiently listened to my list of insecurities before she figured out what I needed. She pointed out to this small box by Ever Bilena and said I should try out their Refining Serum. They were selling it for P395. A bit pricier than facial scrubs, but more affordable than anti-aging creams.
I would use it twice a day, once in the morning and once at night before I go to bed. I would clean my face first with my regular skin care routine before I apply it. That is just washing my face with my preferred facial wash and making sure all make up is removed. I’d put two drops of the serum on my face and made sure to spread it all over until I could no longer feel the moisture. It doesn’t make the skin dry or moisty, but just properly damped.
The serum is a clear liquid with a neutral scent with a consistency that is similar to lubricants but not as oily. It comes in 30ml bottle with a dropper cap. It’s box shows an instruction to be careful not to apply around the eyes. But I’ve made this mistake several times and having some accidentally applied to my eye. But it doesn’t sting and is easily washed off with water.
Ever Bilena’s Refining Serum comes with 5% Niacinamide. What Niacinamide does is it helps your skin regenerate healthier. It also locks in moisture which can help the skin from environmental damages like from the harms of the sun and pollutions. It can help with pimple reduction and minimizes fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots.
After just a week of using it, I did notice a smoother feel on my cheeks and the surrounding skin of my nose. After that week, it seemed like it didn’t have any new effects. But I just carried on an kept on applying it twice every day.
After a month, my pores became smaller and the skin is a bit more refined. The pores are not completely gone, but they’re not as bothering as before. It didn’t make me look younger but I would say it made me look “fresher” with some of my friends noticing the positive effects.
This is the first time that I’ve used a serum for my face. This has actually given me a strong faith on serums now that I would like to try other products too. But I would say that I am satisfied with the results of using this and I might still use this in the future.
